This month in our blog we have talked a lot about how passion is essential for small businesses.
Adventure, Generosity, and Freedom
As kids, our dreams and aspirations tend to change quite often. Whether your childhood dream was to be an astronaut, a firefighter, a truck driver, or even all three, it is very possible that you did not pursue those dreams as an adult. Yet the base of those passions – adventure, generosity, and freedom – have not gone away. We all seek out adventure, from the little things in life like trying a new dish at your favorite restaurant, to the big and bold like hiking one of Colorado’s many 14ers. We also all care about our communities and our families, and do our best to do good towards others. And finally, we all enjoy our freedoms. These aspects of our lives, while they may seem a bit unexceptional and conventional, are essential to who we are, and lay the foundation to what we are passionate about.
Try Everything You Can
So whether or not you pursued your childhood dream, that is okay. Maybe your interests changed, or maybe you just simply decided to go down a different path. But just know that what it is that you are doing now, you are doing for a reason. And if you feel your interests going in a different direction than where you are right now, listen to those feelings and respond in whatever way that you can. Being passionate in many different fields and industries is perfectly normal. Try everything you can, jump at every opportunity that stands out to you. The more you experience in this life, the more you truly know what you are passionate about.
Find Your Passion
If you are struggling to rekindle the passion for your business, a relationship, or your life, the best solution is to go back to your roots. Find solace in nature and the beauty of the world. If you have a special place that you like to go that is away from the hustle and bustle of the world, take a moment to seek out solitude and make time for reflection. Furthermore, don’t try to force yourself to have passion for something or someone; let it come naturally, and if that passion does not come, then you should reconsider your investments. Be true to yourself, follow your heart, and you will find your passion.
